COVID-19 Return To The Court Guidelines

QUICK REFERENCE:

  1. If a family member is awaiting a test result, the athlete shall not participate
  2. If the athlete is awaiting a test result, the athlete shall not participate
  3. If a family member is quarantining (for any reason of exposure or test, the athlete shall not participate
  4. If any player or family member tests positive, the team shall suspend all practices and play for 14 days
  5. Practice: masks shall be worn by everyone at all times
  6. Away Games: masks are recommended to be worn by athletes actively playing in competition, but remains the discretion and enforcement between opposing coaches prior to each competition. Masks shall be worn by everyone not actively playing during games (coaches, bench, referees.)
  7. Home Games: masks shall be worn by everyone at all times including opposing teams
  8. Hand sanitizer must be used by everyone at before and after every practice and game
  9. Temps and symptoms must be taken for everyone present at every practice and game
  10. Coaches may cancel practice or play at any time

Pre-Participation

  1. Behavior off court affects ability to get on court
  2. Verify that any player, coach, or family member does not have symptoms or meaningful contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case
  3. If any player has an immediate caregiver, parent, sibling, or close contact is awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test, the player shall not participate in practice or games until the outcome of the test is known
  4. All participants should stay at home if they are ill or not feeling well. Symptoms of common things
  5. Anyone traveling to restricted areas as defined by the PA Department of Health or on commercial interstate transportation must refrain from practice or games for 14 days from final day of travel
  6. If travel is necessary, report travel to coach prior to journey so the coach can plan practices / games accordingly in your absence
  7. Coaches will take and record temperatures & symptoms in log of all players before games and practices
  8. Parents and spectators shall have temperatures checked by a BBS volunteer, but not recorded, for entrance to any permitting home venue for practice or competition

Social Distancing

  1. Benches shall be arranged by coaches to create distance between resting players
  2. Drills will be designed to create distance between practicing players
  3. Spectators and waiting parents are prohibited to congregate or form groups, for safety and to set good examples
  4. Please wait patiently until the previously game has exited the facility prior to entry
  5. Other venues or teams may have differing guidelines. It is required that Blackhawk athletes and families respect and adhere to the guideline of the host team when traveling

Sanitization

  1. All equipment shall be cleaned between each individual use by coach or BBS volunteer
  2. Players should not share gear and instead use their own personal equipment when appropriate
  3. Each player will have his/her own personal hydration container that is never to be shared and clearly labeled with ownership
  4. Hand sanitizer will be used before, during, and after workouts and competitions

PPE

  1. Masks will be provided to every player and coach by BBS
  2. Masks shall be worn to and from practice by players and coaches
  3. Masks shall be worn by everyone present (including competing athletes, coaches, referees, and spectators), for entirety of practices and games
  4. Gloves by any party are not required or necessary for participation or spectating

Practices

  1. Pre-/post practice free play is prohibited. All practices shall have constant adult supervision to assure appropriate social distancing and PPE guidelines are being followed
  2. Parent and spectator attendance to practices is prohibited.
  3. A no-touch temperature will be obtained for each athlete and coach prior to start of practice. If >99.5o F, that individual should be removed from the group, and if a minor, their parent or guardian should be notified of the documented fever
  4. Masks shall be worn by everyone at all times

Games

  1. No player or game is more important than the health of our community
  2. All participants should stay at home if they are not feeling well in any capacity
  3. Parents, fans, and coaches shall wear masks at all times
  4. Away Games: masks are recommended to be worn by athletes actively playing in competition, but remains the discretion and enforcement between opposing coaches prior to each competition. Masks shall be worn by everyone not actively playing during games (coaches, bench, referees.)
  5. Home Games: masks shall be worn by everyone at all times including opposing teams
  6. There are no concession stands at home venues
  7. There shall not be shared team food items
  8. Teams/athletes/parents are discouraged from congregating between competition periods and after games
  9. As with practice, no-touch temperature should be obtained for each athlete, coach, and official (if home venue). If >99.5o F, that individual should be removed from the group, and if a minor, their parent or guardian should be notified of the documented fever
